At the request of the Central African Republic, the GEF granted, through Project CAF/96/G-31, additional funding of US$271,000 to identify capacity building needs in the area of biological diversity. They will enable the implementation of the National Strategy with a view to sustainable human development.
The overall objective is to identify priority national needs and define strategies and action plans relating to capacity building in the areas of taxonomy, incentive measures and access to genetic resources and sharing of advantages.
