At the 2000 Millennium Summit, world leaders set a set of measurable and time-bound goals to fight global poverty. The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) constitute an ambitious agenda for reducing poverty and a new paradigm that reflects the consensus of the international community to promote human development. The Central African Republic, like other countries in the world, has made achieving the MDGs a priority. This monitoring report shows the progress and setbacks recorded during the period 1990-2006 as well as the path still to be covered to achieve the national objectives and those of the millennium.
