The forest in general and the Central African forest in particular fulfill multiple functions. They maintain soil fertility, generate many environmental services and contribute to carbon sequestration, the survival and well-being of populations, in particular indigenous peoples who are culturally and intimately associated with them, as well as wildlife. This Code establishes a legal framework to ensure the management of the forestry sector in the Central African Republic.
